Whey Animal Feed

Whey is a traditional feed from the cheese making process.

Whey animal feed has several advantages compared to other liquid feeds:

  • Regular supply available
  • Excellent source of energy
  • Balanced source of digestible amino acids
  • Easy to store and handle
  • Palatable

Whey can be utilised in any pig ration up to 15% - 20% of the dry matter.

Whey contains high quality milk proteins which comprises a nearly ideal balance of amino acids. As whey contains salt it is necessary to remove added salt from the balancer meal.

Whey also complements other co-products commonly fed through pipeline systems such as Wheat Distillers Syrup. Dry matter may vary and is typically is in the range 5% to 6%.

We are pleased to work in co-operation with nutritional advisers as required.
